Brett Purtzer - We represented clients at the Special Commitment Center for the State of Washington and resolved the water issue case for $7,500,000.
Attorney Wayne Fricke, again, convinced the prosecution to dismiss charges against his client, which would have ended up in him spending the rest of his life in prison, had he been convicted. This was no easy task, but due to his independent investigation and legal motions to the court, he was successful in obtaining medical records and multiple interviews of one of the complaining witnesses, including an in court deposition with the judge present to order her to answer the questions that were asked. Normally, an attorney is entitled to a single interview, but because of the uncooperative witness and his determination to seek justice, he secured five interviews. Based on all of this, and his advocacy on behalf of his client, the prosecution agreed to dismiss the case “in the interests of justice”.
