Lance Hester has had the privilege of representing a variety of victims of sexual abuse, medical malpractice and drivers’ negligence. His results are a reflection of the hard work he puts into each of his cases, including working with his clients to prepare for all aspects of the discovery process. His goal is that every client is confident to advance to the next step of litigation, whether it be depositions, paperwork, or even trial testimony.
Lance also is a strong advocate for protecting his clients Constitutional Rights. He protects those accused of DUI’s and takes care of their Department of License (DOL) licensing hearings as well. His trial experience spans from Murder to misdemeanor trespass. With his experiences comes an eye for legal issues that often time result in filing motions designed to make sure the playing field is as fair for his clients as possible. Sometimes this restricts the extent of the evidence the opposition is allowed to introduce at trial, and at other times is has resulted in complete dismissal of charges. It is the pursuit of justice and fairness to his clients that motivates Lance.
As mentioned, his DUI legal practice is vast. It has included managing cases of driving while under the influence in many jurisdictions, including trials as near as Pierce and King counties, and some in eastern Washington as well. DUI’s have long-term consequences, and can affect not just a clients freedom, but even the ability to travel to other countries. Mr. Hester maintains active research on the Washington DUI laws and incorporates his working knowledge into all of his case analysis. Often this can lead to favorable negotiations bearing sensible resolutions for his clients.
In his personal injury practice, Lance Hester is not afraid to find justice when to others it may not appear possible. In some cases it appears as though the perpetrator lacks resources to pay on a judgment. In addition to helping vehicle drivers hold other negligent drivers accountable, Lance works hard pursuing justice for cyclists, pedestrians, and vehicle passengers. Mr. Hester has a remarkable track record of fleshing out those resources. He also is not afraid to evaluate all possible theories of who is liable if it means finding justice for his injured client. That’s what Lance Hester’s clients deserve.
Lance Hester’s entire career has been with the Hester Law Group. He graduated from the Seattle University School of Law in December, 1997. He has maintained a trial practice, including plaintiffs' personal injury work and criminal defense ever since.
Mr. Hester is currently admitted to practice law in Washington and Idaho, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. He has experience in the majority of counties in the state of Washington, all three Divisions of the Court of Appeals and Seattle and Tacoma Federal Court. His practice includes a full range of appellate work, both civil and criminal.
Maintaining an active lifestyle is part of what defines Lance Hester. He enjoys snow and waterskiing, running, biking, and swimming. He has completed the New York and Disneyworld marathons and regularly competes in local triathlons, half-marathons, and 5k road races. He enjoys travelling, boating, and about any kind of adventure with his wife and two boys. Lance’s youngest son lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Lance is a committed advocate for the disadvantaged and actively spends considerable time personally meeting with researchers, Congressional representatives, government agencies, and advocacy groups. He serves on a national board (Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy) and is committed to continuing this work until there is an end to Duchenne.
